Helgebostad Hagebruk

On Helgebostadøya outside Hitra is Helgebostad Hagebruk. Here, vegetables and herbs were grown for sale to restaurants and private individuals over a few years. Now the market day has closed but a large variety is still grown here and from 2024 the gardens will be open for visitors and more ideas are being worked on. Everything is grown on natural principles without the use of poison or artificial fertilizers and most of it is handmade. A larger part of the garden area consists of herbs and perennial vegetables. In a home-built garden tunnel of 186 m2 there are tomatoes, chillies and cucumbers in many varieties, and outside there is a large selection of vegetables.
